Scarlett Coley :: Creative Director
Scarlett leads communication strategies online and in print to build strong brands. Her overlapping areas of expertise are user interface and web design, front-end web development, print design, and brand strategy. Nine years of experience working in the design field provides in-depth knowledge of tools and best practices for delivering intelligent and well executed materials. This includes experience as a player on creative teams across the country and abroad.
Scarlett has held a number of titles for agencies and in-house creative departments, including: Brunello Creative, Wallpaper*, Rue La La, J.Jill, (add)ventures, Aquent/Vitamin T, Cambridge BioMarketing, Dodier & Co, Creative Slice, Fenton, and Mass General Hospital. Experience as studio art director, independent contractor and business owner allows her to provide hi-caliber creative services to clients in a range of sectors.
She earned an MA in Design from Central Saint Martins, London UK — one of the world’s leading design institutions. Scarlett studied emotional branding and psychology in advertising, and produced a 3-floor exhibition at the prestigious OXO Tower on the Thames. While in London, she worked for two magazines including Wallpaper* as a designer/illustrator.
The design work Scarlett did for the Men’s Health Celebrity Fitness channel secured two web design awards*, and she’s well-versed in the challenges of high-traffic, content-heavy websites from her work on Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Self. As a proficient front-end, and WordPress, developer — she’s familiar with content management architecture and functionality, as well as HTML(5), CSS(3), jQuery and mobile media. Scarlett’s thorough understanding of interactive communications and delivery systems, user interface design and industry best practices — coupled with years of experience in art and project management means double trouble for obstacles in the way of great design.
Scarlett has been a founding member of several art and design organizations, as well as an exhibiting artist showing video installation, design, and fine art works. She frequently attends design and development events, such as An Event Apart and Handcrafted CSS.
